History

Hope Counseling Services launched in 2016 with a mission to bring Hope to Life through Christ-centered, biblically based counseling, training, and consulting services. We started with three staff and a big vision for our community. From the very beginning we:

Counseled individuals, couples, and families
Gathered and trained biblical counselors
Equipped churches through seminars and consultation

“A Little more than five years ago a small group from a local church in Chapel Hill met in prayer and lively discussion to launch what became Hope Counseling Services (HCS). For a small church this was a BIG initiative. We felt led to launch this ministry because we had personally experienced the transforming power of gospel-centered, biblical counseling in our own lives and wanted to bring it to others in the community. A biblical counseling center had always been our dream. On that day it became a reality.”

Five years in, we are an established and growing ministry. What began with many prayers, an exciting vision, and three staff members has grown significantly. Our ministry highlights include:

13 Counselors serving in several locations, including virtually
650+ people counseled
80+ churches served
1,500 attendees at 25 Hope led seminars
Three counseling locations in NC (Chapel Hill, N. Raleigh, Wilson) and virtual counseling available globally
10 Interns trained
5 Board members faithfully serving
Averaging 300+ counseling sessions each month

Jacklyn Tubel

Senior Counselor

Jacklyn holds a Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary and an Advanced Certificate in Professional Counseling from Biblical Theological Seminary. She served as a counselor at the Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation from 2011-2016. Prior to her work at CCEF, she spent seven years as a missionary in South Africa, working with university students. She has also served in her local church over the years through children’s ministry, women’s ministry, counseling, and equipping others for ministry. In addition to her work at Hope, Jacklyn is an Online Adjunct Faculty at Westminster Theological Seminary for the Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling program. Jacklyn is married to Wes, has three children and enjoys movies, reading, nature, and having fun with friends.
