Training & Equipping

We believe personal growth and change happens best within the context of Christian community. God has designed the local church to be a community where “speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work” (Ephesians 4:15-16). Our counseling and training services aim to support and strengthen churches throughout RDU.

To that end, we provide:

Training and equipping to churches and leaders through seminars, group studies, and consultation for addressing specific counseling needs that may arise in pastoral ministry.
Our seminars range from teaching key biblical counseling concepts like how people grow and change to methods like how to walk with suffering people in wisdom, humility, and love to topic-based seminars such as dealing with anxiety or depression, addictions, marital issues, or guilt and shame.
HCS offers several consultation groups for professional counselors, pastors, and lay counselors in the local church. Consultation groups meet twice per month to discuss cases, to receive feedback, and to provide care for those who bear up the burdens of others. Consultation groups are led by experienced HCS counselors. If you are interested in joining a consultation group, please contact us.

Jacklyn Tubel

Senior Counselor

Jacklyn holds a Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary and an Advanced Certificate in Professional Counseling from Biblical Theological Seminary. She served as a counselor at the Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation from 2011-2016. Prior to her work at CCEF, she spent seven years as a missionary in South Africa, working with university students. She has also served in her local church over the years through children’s ministry, women’s ministry, counseling, and equipping others for ministry. In addition to her work at Hope, Jacklyn is an Online Adjunct Faculty at Westminster Theological Seminary for the Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling program. Jacklyn is married to Wes, has three children and enjoys movies, reading, nature, and having fun with friends.
