Haiyan Pu
Counseling Resident
Haiyan was born and raised in China. She came to the US in 1993 for graduate study and received her MS in pharmaceutical sciences from Ohio State University in 1996. She later worked as a drug discovery research scientist at Schering-Plough/Merck for 18 years, during which she became a Christian in 1999. In 2015, she left her job and moved with her husband to Charlotte NC, responding to the call for full-time ministry at Agape Chinese Baptist Church.
She will complete her MA in Biblical Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary in May 2026. In her 10-year service as a pastor’s wife, she has walked alongside many suffering people and witnessed true hope and healing rooted in Scripture and the gospel of Jesus Christ. She and her husband have one adult daughter. She loves cooking Chinese food and hosting church gatherings. You’ll also find her listening to classical music and doing needlework such as embroidery, crochet, and knitting!
